Meisterstück Special Wedding Edition Collection
In 1998, Montblanc introduced a Special Edition range of 4 different Meisterstück fountain pens to celebrate the wedding: a normal black resin 144 "Classique" Fountain Pen and a 146 "Le Grand" Fountain Pen, and a Solitaire in sterling silver 144 Fountain Pen and a 146 Fountain Pen.

In the standard Meisterstück range the actual ring is made of solid 14-carats gold and on the Solitaire pens, the ring is in 18-carat gold. Also, the nibs on the standard range are 14-carat gold and on the Solitaire range, these are made of 18-carat gold.

The pens were sold in pairs (a 144 and a 146) or in single units.

The production of this Special Edition lasted 2 years, from 1998 to 1999, a reason for their scarcity in the market.

The Special Edition range included the following models:
  • "Classique" 144 Fountain Pen
  • "Le Grand" 146 Fountain Pen
  • Solitaire Sterling Silver "Classique" 144 Fountain Pen
  • Solitaire Sterling Silver "Le Grand" 146 Fountain Pen

Meisterstück "75th Anniversary" Special Edition Collection

Also an especially designed nib was developed for these pens - 14kt dual-tone nibs in the Special Edition and 18kt in the Limited Edition series, these also bearing each pen's individual series number engraved in the cap.

Disclaimer on Pricing and Valuation
The prices given here are the low and high average found on the international market between the years 2014 and 2017. The difference between the lowest and the highest values can be due to such factors as the state of preservation, the provenience, the reputation of the seller, and the completeness of the offer (original case, documentation, ink accessories, etc.). Every collector should be fully aware of the difference between selling prices and purchase prices, and between passion and investment.
Against the normal "market pricing", the following table provides some guidelines for the valuation and negotiation of collectible (not current) fountain pens as per their condition.
